Our problems seem to be external to us but it is how we respond to what is happening within us that determines the quality of life we live. Suppressing our feelings causes stress. Wanting to feel some thing other than what we are feeling means rejecting what we are.
Stress is a sense of being under pressure
Healthy stress motivates us to achieve
E.g.: in sports competition.
Stress often builds so slowly we do not notice it
Short term stress is part of Life
Long term stress leads to depression
